Being based around Marina Kaštela right from our first summer here in Croatia meant that we got to know Kaštela pretty well. With our yacht trips beginning and/or ending here, we got to know the restaurants and food offerings in the area pretty quickly!
And we loved it here in Kaštela so much, that it was our first choice for where we wanted to look for an apartment. With easy proximity to the airport, Split city and Trogir, we still think that Kaštela is a great place to introduce to our friends and family when they visit. There are some amazing staple restaurants here that have been pillars of the community through Croatia’s tumultuous recent history, and a few much-needed modern additions to the neighbourhood. Which really sums Kaštela up quite beautifully, a place where history and modernity meet.
Kaštela is made up of seven ‘kaštel’ dotted along the coast between Solin and Trogir, so some of these restaurants are a bit more than a casual stroll from the marina. But they are well worth the extra walking or the taxi fare, we promise!
And, if you are arriving during the peak of the summer season, restaurants in the marina or in the vicinity of the marina are often booked out, busy and overwhelmed. We highly recommend pre-booking a place to have dinner (and transport to get you to and from dinner if you need it) as one way to make that last night of your sailing holiday a memorable one, in a good way.

Intrada, Kaštel Stari
This restaurant is part of the fabric of Kaštela. Serving hearty Croatian fare, we warn you that the portions are very VERY generous! You know you’re onto a winner when you’re rubbing shoulders with locals. Sit inside and appreciate the very Croatian decor or sit out on the terrance and soak up the sea view across the road. Either way, you win!
!!! If you want a table here, you need to book well in advance. ESPECIALLY if you want a booking for a Friday evening. Call them. See if you can get a reservation. These guys are popular for very good reason!
Mala Mora, Kaštel Lukšić
One of our favourites! Newly opened in 2020, the former Twister Bar got a serious upgrade. Maximising on an already fabulous location, this new contender in the restaurant scene in Kaštela offers alfresco dining right on the water (let me just add here, it’s a truly spectacular setting) or indoor seating with classy, slick decor. With fresh, creative takes on Dalmatian classics, a great wine list and delicious cocktails, this restaurant is on our DO NOT MISS list!
Konoba Dominik, Kaštel Novi
Small. Intimate. Cosy.
This restaurant reminds you what food tastes like when the chef LOVES what they do. Local, seasonal ingredients handled with care. Warm family-like hospitality. Attention to detail and a flair for flavour. We have only recently tried this rustic little konoba and can’t believe it took us so long!
B Cool Brewery and Pub, Kaštel Lukšić
Another newer kid on the block, this open air pub and eatery (with indoor seating as well) has pretty much everything that you could want! From breakfast to nibbles, pizzas, loaded salads and a huge range of beers, from the incredible view to being almost ON the beach. A great place for families because the kids can tear around, swim, jump off the concrete pier and get rid of all that pent up energy while the grown-ups kick back with a cold one. The best of both worlds!
Note: They do allow smoking inside. But it’s summer! The seating outside is better anyway!
Baletna Škola, Kaštel Kambelovac
Literally translating to “ballet school”, this is a restaurant that people from Split drive to Kaštela to eat at… An impressive boast, IYKYK. Baletna Škola is quintessentially Dalmatian, in its clientele, in its warm and direct hospitality and certainly in its dishes!
