The key to a great flotilla experience is the lead skipper. Your lead skipper is Nick, a seasoned sailing instructor, with over 16 years of sailing experience in regions as diverse as the Pacific Ocean, Caribbean and China’s Yellow Sea, navigating the many moods of the sea.
His journey on the sea has been a tapestry of adventure, having learned to sail in the famously blustering waters of Wellington, New Zealand, teaching, instructing and racing on the Sydney harbour, crossing unfamiliar waters through the English channel and Bay of Biscay on catamaran deliveries and experiencing the calm in secluded coves of the Caribbean and Mediterranean.
In Nick’s eyes, sailing is more than a hobby; it’s a way of life. It’s about finding solace in the rhythm of the waves. It’s about pushing the boundaries of what he knows and embracing the unknown with open arms.
Nick is no stranger to the complexities of yacht ownership, having bought his first boat at the age of 17, assisting others to fulfil their yacht ownership dreams, with his long-term goal of owning his own yacht, steering through the Mediterranean.
Nick’s journey is a testament to the unquenchable thirst for adventure, the pursuit of knowledge, and the love for the sea. His story is a tale of a sailor who understands that the true essence of sailing lies not only in the destinations but in the experiences, friendships, and personal growth forged on the open water.

Kalliopi (2021) offers a large, comfortable cockpit and Jeanneau’s signature inclined side decks and many other features making it a delight to move around her deck. This stepless access combined with a lowered boom, overlapping genoa, managed by centralised winches in the cockpit make her a pleasure to handle at sea.
This 3 cabin layout offers a forward cabin with a large square double bed and plenty of surrounding space.

Asteri
“Asteri” is a Bavaria 46 Style which joined the Nisos fleet for the 2024 season. She has an excellent specification, including air conditioning in the cabins and is extremely flexible accommodation-wise with a 3 or 4 cabin layout, plus an electrically lowering saloon table to create an additional double berth.
Please note that in the photographs and video below “Asteri” is configured in the 4 cabin layout. The divider in the forepeak cabin can be removed to create a fabulous owner’s cabin.

Monte Rosa
Mote Rosa (2015) has extremely high specification, including teak decks and bow thruster. With her 2 large double cabins, this yacht is perfect for 2 couples, but she also has the flexibility of 3 berths in the saloon. Being a Deck Saloon (DS) model, gives additional head room and a very light and spacious interior.
There are not many 2 cabin yachts this size for charter in the Ionian, so be quick!
